ACT Ambulance 2

As an operational agency of the Emergency Services Authority, the ACT Ambulance Service is a progressive organisation, with responsibility to provide pre-hospital emergency care and transport to the people of the Australian Capital Territory.

ACTAS is an Intensive Care Paramedic Service, offering the highest level of pre-hospital emergency care to the community. All ACT Ambulance units are crewed by at least one IC Paramedic. Additionally, all Trainee Officers successfully completing the course provided by ACTAS are trained to Intensive Care Paramedic level.

The Service presently has one patient transport vehicle that is staffed with service-trained, Patient Transport Officers. ACTAS Communication Officers work in a joint communication centre with the ACT Fire Brigade.
