TAS Ambulance

The Tasmanian Ambulance Service provides a free service to Tasmanian residents using a fleet of approximately 105 ambulance vehicles and 25 support vehicles.  It has a combined staff of approximately 750, made up of approximately 520 volunteer ambulance officers and 225 salaried staff.

TAS also works closely with allied emergency services, such as Tasmania Police, State Emergency Service and Tasmanian Fire Service.

TAS also contracts Royal Flying Doctor Service for the provision of aircraft and pilots to enable TAS to fulfil its role in fixed wing air ambulance operational response, and is association with Tasmania Police for rotary wing movements both intra and interstate.
