SMRT Mercedes O405 Volgren

SMRT Corporation Ltd is a public transport service provider in Singapore. They have won many awards which recognises their dedication to reliable travel experiences. The O405 model was manufactured by Mercedes-Benz from mid-1980s to the early 2000s. It was widely used in Europe, the UK, Australia and Singapore. The buses replaced the Mercedes-Benz O305 and the Mercedes-Benz Citaro were then the successors.

Trans-Island Bus Services bought the Mercedes-Benz O405 models and fitted them with Hispano Carrocera and Volgren CR221 bodies and were used from 1994 to 1999. The Volgren bodied O405 buses were used as permanent training buses until Feb 2017.
